Well Child Visits
Bringing your child in for regular well child checkups is an important part of their health care. These visits allow our physicians to evaluate your child’s health, growth, and development. This also gives you the opportunity to address various issues that may be of concern to you. Find out more.
Sick Visits
A Sick Visit appointment is scheduled to focus on one particular problem (e.g. earache, sore throat, fever). If your child is sick and it is outside of our scheduled office hours, you may call and speak to our on call physician at 972-206-2940.
To better provide the care your children need, it is our policy that only 2 children from the same family can be seen at one time. If you have more than one child that needs to be seen by the doctor, please speak to one of our patient specialists and they would be more than happy to work out a schedule that will best suit your needs. Prescription Refills
You may also submit Refill requests via the Online Prescription Refill form. To request a prescription refill, please complete ALL FIELDS of the secure form. Your request will be processed within 48 business hours and available by one of the following methods of your choice; pick up prescription or call in prescription. If your request is received on a Friday or a holiday, your request will be processed the following business day. Should you need further assistance, please contact us by phone. Please note that controlled substances or ADD/ADHD refills cannot be mailed or called in. They must be picked up in person in our office. Prescription refills will only be considered for established patients ONLY.
ADHD/ADD and Other Behavioral Evaluations
Our physicians perform weekly ADHD/ADD evaluations. Parents and teachers will likely be contacted and asked to fill out forms regarding their experiences with the child. Goals may include: improving school performance; adjusting to siblings; making friends; learning to sleep; putting on the "brakes"; accepting parental authority; learning to study; time management and others. To make an appointment for an evaluation, please call 972-206-2940 and one of our patient specialists will be more than happy to assist you.
ADHD Packet
This comprehensive packet of information includes several forms to be completed by both parents and your child's teachers, in addition to reference materials to educate you on the types of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and the problems that accompany this condition. The information you and your child's teacher(s) provide will assist your provider with determining if your child has any clinical or diagnostic findings consistent with ADHD.
Once you have collected the appropriate information and completed the necessary forms, please bring them with you to your appointment. Incomplete packets at time of service will result in rescheduling of your child’s appointment. ADHD Forms. Referrals
It is important that our system has updated contact information for you. If you have any questions regarding a referral in process or any other questions, please feel free to contact our referral coordinator at referral@emcaturaymd.com.
NEW PARENTS
By scheduling a prenatal visit and taking the opportunity to speak with your child's future Pediatrician you can develop a level of communication with the Pediatrician and the office staff. You will be able to discuss your family's medical history and any related medical problems that would need to be assessed or monitored by the Pediatrician once the baby is born. It is also a time to trade information, receive advice and ask any questions that need to be answered. A visit to the office and meeting staff helps determine whether your future visits will be comfortable and if the Pediatrician is accessible to your needs as a new mother during and after office hours. Finding the right Pediatrician for you and your family is an important step in providing your family with the medical and emotional supports for the years to come.

Prescription Refills
Refill requests should be made through our Refill Request Line during normal office hours since many pharmacies close early. You can access the Refill Request Line by calling (972) 206-2940 and choosing option 3 (in the secondary menu). After choosing option 3, leave the patient’s name, date of birth, medication you wish to be refilled, and a pharmacy number. Please note that refills will NOT be processed if we do not have a pharmacy number in the system.
Once you have collected the appropriate information and completed the necessary forms, please bring them with you to your appointment. Incomplete packets at time of service will result in rescheduling of your child’s appointment. ADHD Forms. Referrals
There are instances where our physicians may require your child to see a specialist. In those cases, a referral will be processed by our office staff and provided to you within 10 business days. Urgent requests by our physicians will take first priority and will be provided to you within 24-48 hours.
The specialist referred to you will depend on the type of insurance coverage of your child. Please contact your insurance company directly for any questions regarding coverage or benefit information.

Having a child is very exciting but can also be very stressful if you are not prepared. Your child's Pediatrician is going to be very important especially during the first few months of your baby's life. Getting to know them in advance can make the transition into parenthood as seamless as possible. The prenatal visit should be scheduled well in advance so you can visit the office between one and two months before the birth of your child.
