New Patient Information
Welcome to our family! Every one of the children we service are treated like they are one of our own – each an individual, each with a different need. We understand that finding the best possible medical care for your child is important and we are here to provide the services that will enhance their overall well-being. The team at Pediatric and Adolescent Center of Grand Prairie & Arlington (PACGPA) realizes that you have a choice when finding medical care for your child. And, we thank you for giving us the opportunity to provide that care and join your family as we watch them grow through the most important milestones of their life. Forms for your visit You can download these forms and save them to your computer, or you can fill them in at the clinic. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat, download it for free. NEW PARENTS Having a child is very exciting but can also be very stressful if you are not prepared. Your child's Pediatrician is going to be very important especially during the first few months of your baby's life. Getting to know them in advance can make the transition into parenthood as seamless as possible. The prenatal visit should be scheduled well in advance so you can visit the office between one and two months before the birth of your child. By scheduling a prenatal visit and taking the opportunity to speak with your child's future Pediatrician you can develop a level of communication with the Pediatrician and the office staff. You will be able to discuss your family's medical history and any related medical problems that would need to be assessed or monitored by the Pediatrician once the baby is born. It is also a time to trade information, receive advice and ask any questions that need to be answered. A visit to the office and meeting staff helps determine whether your future visits will be comfortable and if the Pediatrician is accessible to your needs as a new mother during and after office hours. Finding the right Pediatrician for you and your family is an important step in providing your family with the medical and emotional supports for the years to come. Why the wait? At PACGPA, we know your time is valuable and goal is to see every patient at the scheduled appointment time. Children, however, are unpredictable, and don't always get sick or injured according to our or their parents' schedules. Because we want to help families especially when they need us most, we sometimes divert our attention to attend a child with an urgent medical situation, or to a new fragile newborn in distress. While we regret such events may increase your wait in the office, we trust you understand well the nature of caring for children. We build time into our schedules to account for the unpredictable nature of birth, accidents and illness, but nature does not always cooperate. At times like these, we appreciate your understanding and patience, knowing that you would like your child to receive the same special care if you were in a similar situation.
